The latest fuss is occurring at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine, where Andrea Minnon says “she had never heard of” the book until her fourteen-old-son Spencer was assigned to read it. Salinger‘s The Catcher in the Rye still often sparks controversy, and appears regularly on the American Library Association’s Most Frequently Challenged Books.
